Atlantic Rowing 2009FORTIS MARINEMASTER: crossing the Atlantic Ocean in a rowing boat
Soon the premier event in ocean rowing will start from La Gomera, Canary Islands and the destination in the idyllic English Harbour, Antigua. Since the first Atlantic Rowing Race, the World has taken notice of this extreme sporting activity. The race is unique and attracts individuals from all backgrounds from Olympic athletes to the everyday person off the street. Safety is paramount to the ongoing success of ocean rowing races. Support on water supply and 24h safety is organized over the duration of the race.
Two British fellows, Charlie (27) and Matthew (28) are facing this challenge, equipped with the newest FORTIS MARINEMASTER Automatic on an orange silicone strap.
Teams from across the globe gather in the race village in La Gomera. The atmosphere is electric as people help each other prepare for the challenge of the mighty Atlantic Ocean, all with the same objective - to take on the unique experience of crossing an ocean in a rowing boat.
