The Grand Prix de GenèveLANGE ZEITWERK awarded with most prestigious Prize of Swiss Watch Industry in Geneva

The LANGE ZEITWERK by A. Lange & Söhne was awarded the "L' Aiguille d'Or" (“Golden Hand“) at the "Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève" on Saturday evening. The awards ceremony event took place at the Geneva Grand Theatre. The "Grand Prix de Genève", which was organized for the ninth time, is said to be the leading award of the Swiss watch industry. The LANGE ZEITWERK successfully competed against a total of 362 timepiece candidates and won in the most important category "L'Aiguille d'Or - by a distance best according to an international expert jury. It was the first time that a non-Swiss watch brand was honoured in this category.

Company founder Walter Lange and CEO Jerzy Schaper received the prize. In his words of thanks Walter Lange, who turned 85 this year, reminded of the fall of the Berlin wall. The anniversary of this event was celebrated for the 20th time a few days ago and was essential for the successful comeback of the traditional brand from Saxony.

LANGE ZEITWERK is the first mechanical wristwatch with a truly eloquent jumping numeral display. This completely innovative watch concept was presented in May this year and marks a milestone in the history of A. Lange & Söhne giving a face to a new horological era.
