Pay homage to your favorite cityMeisterSinger’s City Edition 2017 wristwatches
MeisterSinger makes single-hand watches for people who know what’s important to them – a confident command of time, clearly defined aesthetics, and a link to their hometown. With its City Edition 2017, MeisterSinger has captured the essence of a wide range of cities in a nutshell – and worked together with locally based jewelers around the world to do so.
The result is 43 localized versions of this watch, from Berlin, Paris, and Jerusalem to New York, Tokyo, and Sydney – each one discreet, but uniquely dedicated in word and image to someone’s favorite city.
Urban elegance in steel gray and matt gold
The No. 01, a MeisterSinger classic, was selected as the basis. It is housed in a 40-mm stainless steel case and fitted with a gray sunburst dial featuring golden applications. Only the fine "City Edition" lettering indicates the significance of these special hallmarks. The city itself is acknowledged on the back: with its prominently printed silhouette and a motto engraved in the surrounding steel along with the name of the city. The partner jewelers have selected a wide variety of texts, from traditional slogans such as "Weltstadt mit Herz" (metropolis with a heart) on the Munich version to "entre amis le temps ne compte" (Lyon) or the defiant motto of Paris "Fluctuat nec mergitur" – "Tossed by the waves but never sunk" on the city’s coat of arms. Each version appears in a small, strictly limited series, every single watch is stamped with a respective number on the back.
Celestial mechanics and time for the city
The Swiss movement in the No. 01 is painstakingly finished and can be viewed via the silhouette of the city as it precisely marks the passing of time, or when winding it by hand, which can become a very pleasant ritual. The constellation reminds the owner of the watch that our earthly time follows celestial mechanics – and above all of the city he loves best.
City Edition wristwatches are exclusively available at our partner jewelers from September onwards.
