(12/2010) Friday the 3rd of December 2010, 5.30 pm: Hublot CEO Jean-Claude Biver flicked the switch to illuminate the Vendôme Column in lavish celebration of its bicentenary and to mark the opening of the new Hublot boutique at 10, Place Vendôme. Attendees included Béatrice de Plinval, President of the Comité Vendôme, Isabelle Lemesle, President of the French Centre for National Monuments, Danièle Pourtoud, Deputy Mayor of Paris with responsibility for cultural heritage and Jean-François Legaret, mayor of the 1st arrondissement, all of whom gathered around the Hublot clock which provided the countdown to the event.

Over 250 VIP guests, including personalities from the business and public service communities as well as sports legends the likes of Ilie Nastase and Nadia Comaneci, attended the Caesar Awards Gala at the Athenee Palace Hilton in Bucharest. After a presentation of the trends for 2011, it was time for the highlight of the evening: the Caesar Best Honoris distinctions. The awards are bestowed by the subscribers of Caesar, Romania’s first and foremost luxury magazine, who voted for the most relevant products and services from six categories in the international luxury industry.

Carlos Coste sets new Guinness world record for freediving

(11/2010) Carlos Coste has created a new Guinness world record for freediving, after swimming 150 metres through a cave using no apparatus. The Venezuelan was armed with only a torch and a monofin - a single giant flipper worn on both feet - when he made the death-defying dive. The 34-year-old soared through a passage inside Dos Ojos, a colossal cave network that twists for 31 miles under Yucatan, Mexico.

The prize of “La Petite Aiguille” rewards the best watch of the year whose price is under 5,000 Swiss francs (,166USD). Hublot illuminates the Vendôme Column!

(11/2010) On 3rd December 2010, the Comité Vendôme and Hublot will light up the Vendôme Column to mark the monument's bicentenary (it was erected by Napoleon I in 1810 to commemorate his Grande Armée). At 17.30, Jean-Claude Biver, Hublot's CEO, will press the button: this is a major first as the Vendôme Column – unlike other monuments such as the Eiffel Tower - has never before been illuminated.

(11/2010) Viviane Senna, Ayrton Senna's sister and president of the Instituto Ayrton Senna founded in 1994, has chosen the week of the Interlagos Grand Prix as the occasion to bring together only the closest of friends and family of Ayrton Senna to commemorate what would have been the 50th birthday of the driver, who tragically lost his life on the Imola circuit in 1994. To mark this special event, Paramount Pictures have offered Viviane Senna the opportunity to screen the new documentary-film "Senna" directed by Asif Kapadia, produced by Working Title and Universal.
