(11/2009) Diego Benaglio, the Zurich-born goalkeeper for VfL Wolfsburg (Germany), and the official goalkeeper for the Swiss national team, visited the Jaeger-LeCoultre Manufacture in La Vallée de Joux on 10 November 2009. In just eighteen months, Diego has become one of the German League’s best goalkeepers ever. After arriving in January 2008 in Wolfsburg (Germany), his has been a highly outstanding career.

His career in the United States space program began in 1960 and included senior positions in government and industry. During NASA’s Apollo Program, he was a Flight Director in Mission Control and served in this capacity for all of the Apollo manned missions. He was Lead Flight Director for three lunar landing missions: Apollo 11, 15 and 17.

Ragan retired from NASA in 1999, he closed the door on a 36-year career in aerospace engineering which included the testing of the astronaut chronographs used on NASA’s manned missions.
