The look of the TrustedWatch marketplace was reworked during the course of the re-launch in 2011, and what follows is an insight into the technology behind this move. During the next few months, the watch market will be re-programmed by TrustedWatch. As well as many new functions, the database and the source code will become state-of-the-art, including the search engine function. In addition, the planned optimisation and innovation should raise the watch market's security level still further.

Because the subject of security has top priority at TrustedWatch, three controllers will be responsible for the care of the participant suppliers and the control of the marketplace in future, instead of the two controllers employed up until now. The aim in the medium term is to offer even more comfort to the customers and suppliers, and to take over the international market leadership, not only in the subject of security but also in the numbers of pieces traded and transfer volumes. Today, TrustedWatch is already one of the biggest marketplaces for timepieces and luxury watches on the internet.

“In total, we’ve invested over 250,000 Euro this year in the new technology. We gave the final order at the beginning of August,” says TrustedWatch managing Director Frank Ammann. There are also additional expenditures for the extra employees. For Frank Ammann this is money well invested, and he reckons “that in the coming years, none of the international suppliers or manufacturers will be able to compete with TrustedWatch.“
