(04/2009) Since 2008, the TV channel GlückTv is the proprietor of the brand Lydia David & sons, with the registration number 302008008658. The brand is registered at the German Patent and Trade Mark Office for the categories 14, 16 and 18, thus also for watches and jewelry. But what exactly is the reason for a TV channel owning a watch and jewelry brand?

The answer is simple: the Glück TV GmbH sells watches as well. And in order to stimulate the brand’s business, an own website has been created for “Lydia David & sons“, with the Swiss domain ld-s. On the website, the model “Nautik Pro”, for example, is offered at a price of 1,499 Euro. According to the contact information, the owner of the website is a “MMS AG” in 9434 AU in Switzerland. When we investigated, we found out that a Horst Pokolm owns the domain. But the contact details are not quite correct. The company’s real name is MMS Multi Media Service AG. According to the Swiss Commercial Register, the German citizen Horst Pokolm resigned and has been succeeded by Bernd Fuhlert. And according to the excerpt from the commercial register of 2007, this same Bernd Fuhlert is also GlückTV’s executive, of all things. However, in the corporate details you will only find the second executive Julian Brakmann. WHAT A COINCIDENCE!!!

So, that GlückTv is able to offer and sell watches by „Lydia David & sons“with high discounts can be seen from a different perspective now. The model “Nautik Pro“ (normal price 1,499 Euro) can be bought for a shocking 495 Euro at GlückTv. However, the brand is abbreviated to L. DAVID & SONS.

Certainly it does not take so many abbreviations, persons and companies to sell watches. We advise GlückTv to simply announce: “Yes, we have an own watch brand since 2008 with great pricing and we offer very high discounts. The watch is from somewhere and we have a Swiss homepage with great pictures.”But then again, probably no-one would buy these watches.

This may sound incredible, but the TV channel GlückTV also sells watches by André Belfort. Apparently, the business concept of the two GlückTV executives Bernd Fuhlert and Julian Brakmann is also applicable for “luxury brands”. The André Belfort Aphrodite Gold Zirkonia, for example, is a real bargain at GlückTV. Instead of a whopping 3,190Euro, the watch only costs 790 Euro, not including shipping costs though. (more…)
