Yonger & Bresson: Chinese watches from France

It is quite astonishing that a mechanical watch with a movement originating in a Far Eastern factory can be put on the market as being "Fabriqué en France". One can only admire the kind of "Europeanisation" from the Yonger & Bresson watch label. It's only too obvious that movements originating from Chinese manufacturers are being used here, however, resplendent on the case is the logo “Fabriqué en France“.

To underline the high standards claimed by Yonger & Bresson, the watch brand even exhibited their products at the BASELWORLD 2010 in Hall 1.1. Nevertheless, for Yonger & Bresson this was money well invested, offsetting their expensive fair presence with excellent results from their advertising campaign. The fact that a cheap Chinese movement was what was actually on offer from Yonger & Bresson was, however, probably not clear to most watch buyers of these "valuable watches".

Shopping sites, such as Zalando and MYBESTBRANDS, which sell watches and support this type of business model, are exceptionally annoying. But also here, primarily, cash is what counts, at (almost) any price.
