Great Shopping!

Watchtime.net, Chrono24.com and the LSU Hamburg

(10/2011) The watch branch is, at times, small. Very small. Nevertheless, it's not always easy even for branch insiders to take note of its intricate inter-connections. But sometimes it's not complicated at all. The Chrono24.com watch marketplace advertises on the watch page of Watchtime.net, which is run by the Ebner publishing company. At first glance, there seems nothing unusual in this combination. However, the inter-connections therein are much more complicated.

New Watch Category Structure at Ebay

Have fun whilst searching!

New Watch Category Structure at Ebay

(08/2011) On the 22nd of August 2011, Ebay made various changes in its category structure and item-specific attributes in the area of watches. Where earlier the genuine luxury brands like Breitling, OMEGA and Rolex were kept strictly apart from fake brands and cheap Chinese watches, fraternisation now rules! All watch brands now come under the heading of "wristwatches", regardless of how suspicious they may appear. The customer can then filter out their own watch features!

Chrono24.com: Purchase problems

Michael Winter says it like it is!

Chrono24.com: Purchase problems

(08/2011) Unusual for a lawyer, but legal eagle Michael Winter speaks frankly in his new column! In his first contribution for TrustedWatch he describes the problems with which watch buyers are confronted on the Internet. Affected is one of his clients, whom he now represents in a case against the retailer who sold him a used IWC luxury watch via the Chrono24.com platform.

AUCTIONATA: Caution is the top priority

(07/2011) The first used brand-name watch auction from Austrian start-up auctioneers AUCTIONATA at the end of June did not create the demand that was perhaps hoped for. However, the Austrians decided to try it again on the 10th of July 2011, this time featuring historic collector's watches. Amongst other things, one of the highlights envisioned by AUCTIONATA on their online watch auction is a Patek Philippe in white gold, as well as a 1930's Jaeger LeCoultre Triple. Altogether, 150 watches are to be auctioned.

Yonger & Bresson: Chinese watches from France

Turning a Chinaman into a Frenchman

Yonger & Bresson: Chinese watches from France

(07/2011) It is quite astonishing that a mechanical watch with a movement originating in a Far Eastern factory can be put on the market as being "Fabriqué en France". One can only admire the kind of "Europeanisation" from the Yonger & Bresson watch label. It's only too obvious that movements originating from Chinese manufacturers are being used here, however, resplendent on the case is the logo “Fabriqué en France“.

Not VIP: BuyVIP and the watches from Richtenburg

Amazon subsidiary sells Chinese watches at huge discounts

Not VIP: BuyVIP and the watches from Richtenburg

(07/2011) BuyVIP is a closed shopping portal for members only. In October 2010 it was taken over by Amazon. The portal lives from the recommendations of its members and advertises with large discounts for selected products from well-known brands and international trend labels. According to their own advertising, BuyVIP offers its customers “time-limited campaigns with top brands from fashion and lifestyle labels at attractive prices“. But which brands do they mean?

AUCTIONATA: No cancellation and return policy

Questionable watch auctions

AUCTIONATA: No cancellation and return policy

(06/2011) The Austrian e-commerce company AUCTIONATA starts the first luxury watch online auction in late June 2011. Luxury watches from renowned manufacturers such as Breitling, Ebel, IWC, Rado, Rolex and Zenith will go to auction.  The watches will be delivered, amongst others, by the watch dealers Oliver Deneke and Mario Gensicke.

Chrono24: Watch retailer Relojes Exclusivos contravenes copyright laws

(05/2011) Good watch photos are rare on the Internet. For online watch traders they are often the decisive factor as to the success of their offers. Manufacturer's own images are unable to be sourced due to the copyrights for their use, and making original professional photos is usually much too expensive. The Spanish supplier Relojes Exclusivos has found "their" own way around this problem. They copied photos from the German watch forum.

Caution, Fraudster: Catching out customers with luxury watches by Rolex, Chopard & Patek Philippe

Fraudsters are using the watch buyer’s ignorance

Caution, Fraudster: Catching out customers with luxury watches by Rolex, Chopard & Patek Philippe

(04/2011) A slick method of deception is currently abounding amongst various watch traders, in particular in Asia and Russia. The unsuspecting customers are being presented with apparently high quality, genuine watches by the sales staff at the jewellers', usually with interesting reductions and discount. Popular watch brands such as Rolex, Chopard, Patek Philippe and all brands that are elegant and expensive are often offered by these swindlers.

Fakers love Rolex, Breitling, TAG Heuer and Omega

Watch counterfeits and watch plagiarism

Fakers love Rolex, Breitling, TAG Heuer and Omega

(02/2011) One can find them on the beach, at the airport, in auctions, at jewellers and even in museums. We are talking about watch counterfeits and watch fakes. The start into the world of fake watches begins with just a few Euros and ends in the six and seven-figure region. While counterfeits and fakes in the lower price segment are still relatively easy to recognise, watch experts even struggle with those in the higher price segment.

Stefan Will, alias ducaticorse21 applies for private insolvency

(01/2011) The evident damage which Bruehl-based Stefan Will (alias ducaticorse21) has caused is considerable! Within the scope of his private insolvency, Stefan Will is facing demands from trustees to the sum of 66,894.53 euros, according to court figures. The actual damage might be still higher, because in this sum, only the demands announced by the trustees have been taken into consideration.

Real watch bargains?

Watches on 1-2-3.tv: TAG Heuer, DELMA, Revue Thommen and Laco By Lacher on special offer

(06/2010) It is an illustrious round, in which the renowned Swiss and German watch producers TAG Heuer, DELMA, Revue Thommen and Laco By Lacher find themselves on 1-2-3.tv. If you filter the watch offer on the homepage of the home-shopping station with residence in Unterföhring close to Munich with the setting „over 500.00 Euros“, additional watch brands appear next to watches by TAG Heuer, Delma, Revue Thommen and Laco By Lacher like R.U. Braun, Lindberg&Sons, NOCTUM or G.v.M.Wehro, better known as „Graf von Monte Wehro“.

Grey market watches: The TAG Heuer from the home-shopping stations

A watch purchase on 1-2-3.tv

Grey market watches: The TAG Heuer from the home-shopping stations

(06/2010) At first glance, it is an enticing offer: a new  TAG Heuer Calibre S Regatta at a price of 1666,88 Euros including shipping costs in the online shop of 1-2-3.tv. If you order the watch , you must pay in advance if you are ordering for the first time. In the case of the order on hand of a customer, a period of tense waiting started first after the confirmation of the payment receipt. It took 9  days to receive the watch. Probably the watch was not on stock and had to be procured first.

The watch language of the home-shopping stations

Quartz or mechanic?

The watch language of the home-shopping stations

(04/2010) „Cheap offers, attractive novelties, bargains, premiers, and special offers…“, this and similar ads can be heard on renowned home-shopping stations. And of course you can also „buy watches conveniently and safe“. Too bad only that most of the watch brands offered there are hardly known to viewers, jewellers and special dealers.
